Page Updated: December 04, 2009 Packaging Stands Up to the Test! With our improved packaging and distribution methods, damaged or frozen freight has been reduced to 5/100 of a percent in claims. That's over 99.9% delivered without damage, offering you the Peace of Mind you deserve. By shipping our product in a larger, square 8 count box we have greatly reduced the potential of it getting turned on it's side during transit to you. Another great benefit is that we will now ship twice the number of trays per box at near the same cost as the smaller box. This equals great savings to you - calculate your cost per tray and compare! (see rates)
During the 2004-05 season , Four Star Greenhouse had been trialing a new larger box with select customers across the nation. Starting for the 2005-06 season, this became our shipping box of choice, and we have converted all shipping utilizing this packaging method. This improved packaging has been tested to ensure your Proven Winners® and Proven Selections® product reach you in the best possible condition. The best part is that our new box allows twice the product packed per box while being less likely to turn over, allowing plants to arrive in better condition.
Every Tray is Carefully packed; bagged, matching variety tags are sent with every tray.
Packaging Specifics
Do you want to be certain your box arrives full? We want to help you! Many times, as a grower, it can be complicated for you to determine if the boxes being sent to you are going to be full. With so many tray sizes, packaging specifics, revisions to orders, and sometimes as hard as we work to prevent them; backorders or can not supplies. Please let us know that you would like us to finish filling your box, no one wants to pay for us to ship air (empty slots). We do our best to contact customers in advance when we notice many open slots in a box, but again this is not always possible due to the volume of product we ship during peak seaon. While we cannot guarantee full boxes, we will strive to send you completely full boxes as possible. We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas and will certainly take them into consideration as we continue to improve on this system. Here is a breakdown of the size trays we offer, grouped by items that ship the same quantity per box. Direct Shipments via Four Star Truck
With direct to your door delivery Four Star can protect your plants from cold and damage during handling by at least 65%. By delivering plants on our temperature controlled trucks, we reduce damaging exposure and excess handling. Liners are delivered (with tags) unboxed, on our racks, covered for extra insulation and protection, direct to your place of business - during business hours! We do our best to deliver as many orders every week with this service as possible, however can not guarantee this delivery method for every order. Different factors when scheduling orders for shipment may be size of order, time of year and current workload, truck availability, etc. Rest assured, your order will arrive to your door as this is Four Star's way of doing business.
