Vigor Ratings are listed on each variety in our 2007-08 This year, a team of our growers gathered together to apply a Vigor Rating System to all of our Proven Winners® and Proven Selections® Annuals and Perennials. Many times when a grower plants a combination container, they are uncertain if all of the plants will grow and perform equally. Sometimes one plant is not nearly as vigorous as the other plants it has been combined with and will quickly be overgrown and lost. Our goal was to take away the guess work so that you can combine varieties of near-equal vigor. For this goal, we have applied a 1-4 rating to all plants. 1 being the slowest growers and 4 to the quickest, biggest growers. You can find a rating applied to each variety in our 2007-2008 catalog. (Don't have a catalog, click here.) Using this number you can plan combinations with knowledge of the plants expected vigor. Tag Exchange Program - Reduce tag overage and receive Proven Winners® combination tags instead. Published: November 16, 2006 When planting combination containers it is very easy to accumulate surplus tags that you do not need. To reduce wasted tags we have developed a simple program to allow you to receive the stake tags you need and replace the ones you do not need with something more useful - Combination tags!
